Friday 19 May, 2017
I awoke bright and early and very excited. Today is the day I deliver my Conference paper ‘The Quest to find Prendergast ancestry”
The day started with Dr. Michael C. Kean who has written a book from Laois (pronounced Leesh) to Kerry.
Dr. Penny Walters delivered a very interesting and heartfelt paper “Is adoption the Primal Wound”
This was followed by Jane Halloran-Ryan- Tyredagh Clunes – What we can learn from one family’s journey – From Country Clare to Connecticut.
After a short morning break Tony Harpur presented “The glory of the O’Deas.
And then it was my turn. I thoroughly enjoyed delivering my paper “The quest to find Prendergast ancestry”. Quinn supported my presentation by synchronizing the video that Barry had created especially for my presentation.
Professor Deidre-Hunt presented her paper “An exploration of the O’Dwyers’
Ed Madden – Exploration of family history research was also very interesting.
We finalized our Irish research with the Certificate ceremony presented by Kenneth Nicholls.
