Fish and chips at Harrods

We landed at Heathrow Airport at 06:55 and our driver was there to greet us to drive us into our Hotel the Radisson Blu Edwardian Vanderbilt.

As expected it was a dreary, wet day in old London town But the warmth and friendliness of the staff on our arrival made up for the weather outside.

Regular readers of my blog will know that I love staying at the Radisson Blu. The lovely old former home of the Vanderbilt family still has all the original artwork of the family. It is one of the few buildings spared by the bombing in the Second World War so everything is still perfect.

Although our travel agent had booked us into a double room, this mistake was soon remedied and we were able to check in straight away and our twin room was made up ready for us in next to no time.

After freshening up and skyping Barry and Sasha to catch up on all their news, I went for a walk down Cromwell Road, past the V&A and on to Harrods which is about 15 minutes from here.

There is nothing so cheery as a little retail therapy on a cold and wet London day – and Harrods ticks all the boxes. There is so much bling in the store it brightens any day and not to mention the delicious Fish and Chips for lunch – just wonderful.
