Prendergast Family History -The Quest continues.

Is this REALLY the final resting place of John Prendergast’s wife Catherine?

Families of Ireland

Following my very successful visit to Ireland last year in the quest to find Prendergast ancestors, I have decided to continue my research by travelling back to Ireland in 2017.

I need to conduct further research to help answer the inevitable series of questions that have arisen since my quest began. A number of my blog followers have asked for information regarding the Prendergast ancestors and again I hope to dispel the myths. Several fellow Genealogists have asked me to help them in their quest to find their own families in Ireland and several friends just want to have safe, friendly company on their holiday in Britain and Ireland.

So, I have decided to accompany people living in Australia with Irish ancestors to travel over to Ireland and to visit the repositories at the areas that their families once lived.

I have been reviewing various tour companies and believe that I may have found the perfect tour. It will offer a varied and interesting itinerary and will be very good value for money. Whilst staying at deluxe accommodation, eating delicious meals and enjoying safe and comfortable travel on deluxe coaches around Ireland we will visit the historical sights and places of interest that will delight all family historians.

This tour will be Book ended by two Conferences one in the Republic of Ireland and one in Northern Ireland.

The first Conference is titled: Clans and Surnames of Ireland Convention and Conference and is scheduled to be held 15-19 May, 2017 in Nenagh, Tipperary, Ireland. All the details can be found on  This Conference will cover all the questions that families with Ancestors from the Republic of Ireland could need answered.

The second Conference is scheduled for 14 -21st June, 2017 in Belfast, Northern Ireland and titled: Tracing your Irish Ancestors family history Conference and is being conducted by the Ulster Historical Foundation. For those of you who are interested in visiting Northern Ireland in the quest to find your Ancestors this Conference is for you. For further information click on
